It s brilliant for me as my alarm wakes me each morning I then make tea go back to bed with my cup of tea knowing that I can watch the latest news inside my bed knowing that I never have to put the television on I love the newspaper headlines I especially like the Sunday mornings coverge wish I could read more but then I would be reading all day Thank u for explicit coverage                     irene Hurrell

Biased reporting of Brexit and an incredible number of LGBT stories that raise serious questions about the BBC There s also an extraordinary amount of unbalanced pushing articles on coloured people including incessant African photo galleries While equality would be a good and commendable thing the BBC appears to be pushing their views unrepresentative of the British people They obviously have a hidden agenda to promote their own propaganda as versus their claim to provide unbiased news         Rick Bear

I m getting tired of the obvious slant to major domestic news stories being reported by BBC journalists Unlike other apps you cannot make comments on news stories for the BBC app This I find irritating and perhaps not surprising and fitting for the BBC who would never appreciate being challenged on their journalism The grammar and punctuation in news stories is also slipping but I would guess this is more to do with our declining education system     Gary Johnson

The BBC News app is my Go To for either skimming through headlines or when I have the time it s great for highlighting the current affairs technology and other interesting articles The app is fast responsive and displays articles on a really readable format Excellent app                     Lee Monk

Would give 5 stars but since the last update I have noticed the following annoying action I scroll through the articles watch one and click on the back arrow when finished When the app goes back to the selection screen it doesn t go back to the last position It goes back to the beginning of the articles Very annoying         Graham Gibb

Although I do find the app useful I get frustrated by the number of articles which rely on video content rather than the written word It isn t always possible to view video clips when you don t have a fast and reliable internet connection             Jan Pallett

I find this app it quite frustrating at times The video links frequently don t work telling me to try again later or not currently available The news can be slow to update even though I have it on set on the most frequent update I often have to rely on other news apps instead         Lesley Begeman

Very useful app but sometimes current news does not appear fast enough and I have to use other sources to find out what is going on I would expect a world class service to be better at reporting current events and would like to see the BBC work harder at bringing live news more quickly At times the pieces seem biased and that needs to change too                 J W

Yet another app that changes for no reason whatsoever As nearly all of the recent comments indicate the previous layout is preferred so please change it back or at least put an option in Settings I agree with everyone who praises the content but if you cannot easily see the headlines it becomes irrelevant how good it is if you cannot easily find the items that are of interest edit Smaller text now is better increased to 2 stars         David Short

1 My News keeps reverting back to where I start E G UK news is at the top and 1st thing I see if I scroll down to the next 1 and pick something to look at when I close it it reverts back to UK news this is really annoying when I m near the bottom of my my news topics finding where I was everytime I close a story 2 Every time I open the app it opens with Top Stories I don t use Top Stories both these issues didn t happen until recently             Phil Pittaway

Although the actual news text is good changes over the past few months have rather diminished usability in My News using carousel every time I return from reading an article the app resets to the top of the list of topics instead of returning to my last position Ho hum         Nick Howard

Refresh broke in last update It s now not possible to get the app to refresh when installed on Android Pie 9 on OnePlus 6 Recently it was possible to swipe down from the top and have the app refresh This very important functionality is now not working Need to kill and restart app to get latest news which sort of defeats the point really     Brian Reid

Great app for BBC news BUT just navigated around it having launched it from Twitter and found two things can t share BBC pages that you have navigated too within the app And it keeps you in the app if you link to an external page which allows them to capture stats on what you re browsing and also removes the responsive design of those pages making the websites you browse to unusable and because you can t capture the url of the page you re on to launch in a proper browser it becomes unusable             Rachel Breeze

Web pages good content poor Stories generated by the BBC for BBC e g Derbyshire s show and panorama News taken out of context dramatised and many stories are merely speculation politics in particular is guess work policy issues generally concern NHS and police in it s quest for moral panic We have empty office blocks but no houses what does that say about the UK Each story has to promote the BBC s skewed version of equality and inspiration for young people         Peter Curtis

like the news coverage app is pretty good with one major annoyance Sometimes theres a story that i am not just uninterested in but dislike to see A story that will negatively emotionally trigger me but if i dont go in as if to read it seems to never go day after day i see it give us the option to swipe away or hide an article                 Alex Kite

The newspaper review is frequently not updated Surely keeping news up to date is a priority for a news app News is not in chronological order so you have to scroll in case you miss recent news Today the newspaper review is a day old Why can t you get that right What s the point if day old news     A Google user

Got new Samsung galaxy A50 can install and watch bbc news in all different languages and other bbc apps but not bbc news English it installs but crashes every time it is opened immediately worked fine on my S7 all apps were copied over using smartswitch all fine repeated uninstalls but still sane issue driving me dilly     L.
