If you are Android owner,you now can download PressReader for free from Google Play. The application is supporting English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. The new PressReader app version 4.2.13.0820 has been updated on 2014-11-18. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. Here is the app`s compatibility information: 2.1 and up

PressReader provides lots of different papers and magazines daily Publications with artistic layouts can be more difficult to read but most of the newspapers are quite readable even using a smartphone I m sure a tablet would be better UPDATE If you choose to auto download a paper you get a flat non hyperlinked edition which is not what I want SO I will continue to keep that option turned off even for my daily reads Thank you to PressReader support for the quick feedback                 Tommy Trussell

Language issue worked around it is taken from the tablet and isn t controlable from the app The NYT decides to appear hours after it is available I am 6 hours ahead of Eastern Time in the USA Even after it is available the calendar setting for today s date is still greyed out Both switches are on automatically retrieve newest and include all Only patience seems to work I didn t report this sooner as i was in my summer home on a mountain in the South of France dodgy mobile data     Stephen J. Very frustrating I use it as the physical paper delivery has been erratic at best for decades Photos unrelated to the article float around inappropriately the time the soft copy arrives is hugely variable Articles will disappear or the app shut down on a regular basis I am grateful for at least being able to access the paper in bed I can do the crosswords including my Note 8 pen Not a bad start but needs much improvement         Paul Styles

I tried subscription to NY Times via Pressreader Pressreader Andoid app has flaws trying to read articles in text mode Pressreader support initially looked promising but then just stopped after supposedly being elevated I could not reach Pressreader to cancel my subscription via phone an answering machine with no option to speak to a live person or chat web pages supposedly lead you to a chat option but none appeared Was finally able to cancel with help of NY Times supervisor     Rob Moretti

App was frustrating and tedious to sign into using my library ID There is a very serious lag when resetting the password for Pressreader too I ve edited my review and changed my rating because the Dev team responded very quickly to my complaints about logging in with my library credentials I would encourage others having similar problems and I ve seen them logged to email the team for help                 H Glavina

OK when it works Yes you can read newspapers with it but boy do you need some patience Scanning through the newspaper already downloaded apparently by the time I ve reached page 4 or 5 it just gives me a blank page If I m prepared to wait it will eventually display the page but skip to the next page that is probably blank too and I have to wait some more A thoroughly unpleasant experience and I will be uninstalling it             Roger P

When a download of a paper goes smooth PressReader is great But there are not infrequent times that a download seems to stall needing to delete the issue and retry a download sometimes 2 or3 times Two supplements of Sunday Washington Post will download fine but the paper download gets hung Overall reliability is average at best             Duff Means

Can no longer sign in with library card Press to do so and a blank transparency appears over the button with nothing but an X in the top left to get rid of it If this functionality is no longer offered why is it still offered Used to be great     Catherine Carter

Many times it doesn t come through for 3 days very annoying and I have to look for today s edition because it is not in order I m sick of the app I m not sure why they can t make something so simple work properly even a paperboy can         Ken Harden

Can be slow on auto downloads but great App for reading magazines I d like to see an option to save mags rather than just have the auto upload I dont want everything just some copies or some articles                 Kev Driver

Certainly not amongst the best apps I ve used on my smart phone When opening the first page for instance the text version usually opens To read the furst page I have to swipe to the second or other pages and return to page one Frequently the newspaper will not open until I ve backed out and opened several times Three stars is really for encouragement not quality             Colin Benson

It s a nice app that s really let down by the inability to make or retain a list of favourite publications There s ten or thereabouts publications in interested in but i can t make a favourites or bookshelf list of them Instead i have to search for them each time                 Chris Reynolds

Poor Application downloads wrong newspaper every morning I download two every morning The Mercury and The Witness It shows both at the top of the Screen but only downloads The Witness when I tap on The Mercury Its very annoying as I must then go into the App and find The Mercury newspaper to read it         carlos boldogh
