Music Pump DAAP Player

Was looking for a daap client and found this its the best out of the few I tried and Ill be sticking with it Just 2 things annoyed me a little the lack of an equalizer easily remedied by downloading an equalizer app and more importantly the lack of skins Please make some skins for this EDIT Ohand maybe a nicer looking too              Almost exactly what I wanted Just needs skins

Was looking for a good way to play music from my Ubuntu 1210 machine over my network I looked into icecast2 and darkice but the setup was complicated and is more broadcaststyle I want ondemand playing without the need to control the media stream from my PC Once I found Music Pump I got rid of icecast2 and darkice without hesitation I tried a free DAAP player first but it just doesnt compare to the features of Music Pump Music Pump runs pretty well on my Galaxy S doesnt seem to hog resources or crash Its nice to find an app that works so well on my aging smartphone unlike some others It seems like they probably put a lot of work into getting efficient performance from the app The developers have obviously put a lot of work into it and it shows My 299 was well spent For the server end of the setup I am using Ubuntu 1210 with Rhythmbox and the DAAP player plugin It easily shows my music library and my playlists a feature that seemed absent from another leading free DAAP client Once you get used to seeing the now playing area and the play queue a feature that took a minute to locate I think youll fall in love with this application too                 Slick DAAP Player

Works well and fast but interface leaves much to be desired

If I add new music files to my Linux server they donu2019t show up in Music Pump unless I reinstall it Otherwise a great app Im running forkeddaapd on Debian              Not picking up new music

Simple and works But no autodiscover you have to specify the IP address of the server no m4a album art mp3 album art created with iTunes doesnt always work Not terribly compatible with iTunes then Works well with Firefly Supports now playing queue Supports playlists but sorts them into artist order Not terribly useful Who wants all their Abba tracks together at the beginning of a playlist Update I changed my router to a well known TPLink model and now the app will not log on to the Firefly libraries which worked before           iTunes client

Does what I wanted streams nicely from my wdlivebook to samsung galaxy note 10 Just one query it shows and plays all albums but when in the all songs section it doesnt any ideas why              Excellent App

Works excellent Nice interface and usability I run a firefly server to serve out about 30k songs and it works flawless over wireless at home and over 4G on the road connecting back to my home Keep up the great work                 Excellent App

I would have given it 5 stars except that the app cowardly refuses to play local music without an internet connectionI get an error about not being able to verify the licenseSo if youre always connected this is way coolUsing it to retrieve songs from my iTunes server for a road trip not so cool once we were on the road          

I bought this a while ago when it was still pretty basic Kudos to the dev for putting further work into it As it is now its perfect for me Very clean and simple GUI and caching of the song database is really quick Love the download function as this has become the main way of getting my music on my phone Thank you very much                 great piece of software

App works great over WiFi as well as when Im away from my home on 3g Use it all day at work                 Does exactly what I want

Just installed this yesterday and it seems to do what it claims Good job Going on the tube each day where connection is bad I could do with an option to set buffer length                 First impression Good

Didnt find the firefly server on my DNS323 straightaway for some reason it defaulted to running on port 3668 but once setup manually it worked very well Cached song db very quickly Nice widget too Good work              Very slick

I can get it to play a single song maybe one time in twenty Useless    

better than average daap player but has too many bugs connection related for a non free app        not worth

Fantastic little app I have tried all the apps I could find and they were all unreliable sluggish and lacking features to varying degrees This program is efficient with a nice clean uncluttered interface I am streaming FLAC from a Linux machine using Rhythmbox and have my tab connected directly to my amp I have had no issues whatsoever When you consider the cost of this app the reliability and features make it excellent bang for your buck                 Spot on and for half the price of a pint

I use it for my itunes server on Dlink 320L NAS works perfectly Dont need PC to play music from my music library anymore Also It searches NAS server automatically Great UI                 Excellent app

Almost flawless on my Nexus 7 tablet but an occasional playback failed error with my LG Optimus One w a meager 600 MHz processor on the same WiFi connection Using a 3G connection is hitormiss unless the connection is solid Ive had success maybe one out of three tries but strangely enough another app seemed more reliable with marginal connections and hardware              Works better on a tablet

The interface is nice and it is good to be able see album by covers though personally I would like higher quality covers to be downloaded as most are pixilated Whilst there is smart playlist when you select one you only see the songs can cant list the albums or the genres in that playlist              Nice interface

Its clean basic design makes it very easy to find your music Im using it with a firefly server on Ubuntu mostly streaming to my NAD amp with a Logitech Bluetooth adapter Very satisfied                 Great app
