This app is missing words e g plotz that are present in the free web version which seems unacceptable for a paid app Some of the features from the website such as recent usage examples and search suggestions are also missing from the app There are also cases where tapping a word in a definition takes you to the wrong link e g Muslim sends you to the old fashioned Moslem On the positive side the layout is very clean and easy to read better than the web version             Nick Sedillos

I love the ease and simplicity of the application Furthermore I find so many different ways utilize it in an effort to improve my own reading writing and language comprehension I even realized that unconsciously through repeated use of the app my spelling has even improved drastically I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who speaks reads or writes in gibberish slang memes gifs emojis wingdings text emails or simply wants to be taken seriously                     Sarah Harty

The bottom bar Dictionary or Thesaurus sporadically become blank when displaying a word which has synonyms and scrolling up Please fix it I am on Android 10 both Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 3 How ironic It doesn t not happen in ad supported version         Shengqiang Shu

Excellent source for looking up words quickly in order to get a clear understanding of what has been said or written I love the word for the day feature which can easily help to expand one s vocabulary Also you can listen to how the word is pronounced by tapping on the pronunciation icon                     Phaud Muller

Very Slow in loading definitions Loading is what you see on screen every time when you search a word Quite annoying for a premium dictionary I was using free version with the same problem and thus bought premium to overcome the same only to find that it s a clone app with just an ad free experience Also the search of phrases is extremely cumbersome For instance search for go to pieces and the result will be go expecting you to scroll search scroll till you find go to pieces     Javed Khorajia

I love this app so much It is fantastic that if you do not know how to spell a word but know how to say it you can use the microphone option and if you know how to spell it but not say it the pronunciation is right there phonetically and audibly Definitons are clear and the etymology or background of where a word came from is fascinating I love vocabulary and this app has grown my vocabulary base and understanding exponentially                     Tracy Forbes

All things considered I really like this app Format versatility and additional features like games give a comprehensive way of looking up vocabulary as well as keeping track of important words via the favourite lists Two things though 1 The loading time online and off has increased significantly with the recent version 2 Favourite lists don t seem to be syncable I recently got a new phone and lost my entire list developers Please add this feature                 Martin Hochheimer

I bought this app for the thesaurus I thought the thesaurus was gone since I saw no button for it However since the developer has explained how to access it I have been using it successfully Since this app is more complete with both definitions and synonyms it is my opinion that it is superior to others that I ve tried In addition it does not collect data on me and use me as a product which is refreshing                     Ann Randall

Please address and resolve I enjoy this app except for 1 major issue with using it If I don t spell a word correctly then it will not predict the word What I end up doing is going to a search engine to look up the word Search engines correctly guess the word I m trying to spell nearly 100 of the time Then I ll go back to the M W App with the correct spelling and be able to find it Please fix this issue I m not good at spelling that s what should make a dictionary app so useful             Christopher Jackson

Apparently weather you pay as I did or you use the free version the app needs internet access Whatever word you put in the app will continue to say loading until you allow it to get net access I bought this in 2015 and back then whatever word you looked up popped up quickly with the meaning I paid for it for that convenience but now it just annoys me The app information says it can be used offline that was back then certainly not now Until that capability is restored no more than 3             A Google user

This dictionary serves my needs for having a tool to quickly define words with examples of how to use the words Also includes synoyms for word replacements IMHO the available recent word look up list can be like having bookmarks Text is easy to see Only thing is the pronounciation voice icon next to the words do not work on my phone don t know why or how to fix if there is one                     Pat Brown

This is the abridged version I bought this thinking it would be the complete and unabridged M W dictionary and it s not So for definitions of rare or archaic words you have to go to the web site which surprise asks you to pay again for the unabridged dictionary The app itself is fast and works well My complaint is primarily with the content             Brian Gergens

It s an okay app I constantly use the dictionary and the thing I hate is that if I hit the back button it doesn t take me back to the page with the search it takes me all the way back to the home page so I have to reenter the word I m looking for It s frustrating when I m in a time crunch otherwise it works well sometimes it lags if I m not connected to data or wifi             Ana Lucia Varon Ocampo
