The Cell Phone Coverage Map is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is supporting English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. The new Cell Phone Coverage Map app version 2.3.8 has been updated on 2014-01-7. For ensuring consistency with the device you should take into account the following app compatibility information: 1.6 and up

Join the Crowd and Put Your Carrier s Coverage to the TestHow does your cell network really perform? Don t rely on the claims of carriers. Test it for yourself Download the free RootMetrics app: ...

One feature needs to be added Be able to hide the hexagonal markers to see the mapp clearly I don t know if there is an option for that now but if there is I can t seem to find it                 Apollo Snyder Trains
The main problem that I have with this app is that it will not test the wireless network if the signal or coverage is really bad The app will stop testing in the really bad areas therefore the results to not show up on the map             Eric Moore
Used to love this app Upgraded to latest version on 2019 5 11 and now it is broken Tried to do numerous speed tests and it would timeout or fail when data is working wih other apps WiFi is off Hope it is fixed soon         Rico Bandito
I love helping contributing to coverage maps Heard lots of good things about this one so thought I d give it a try Ran a test where I drove to work with it running continuous speed tests all the way there Later that night when I checked the map all the coverage I charted was updated already and viewable for everyone to see Love this app and will continue to chart coverage with it                     Mitchell Norris
It uses faked data I m not sure the point of such an app my concern is th as t it is more about what is on my phone than where I can use it     David Humphrys
you dont seem to be able to store the data and reuse with your mobile provider later EE said use this but i need to have access to pen and paper when conducting test old school     Gary Nixon
Not user friendly no history from what i can see Please fix             Bruce Graham
Keep up the good work I really dig this app Enjoying the layout I am hoping to add to it                     General Generic Username
Network coverage is not updated correctly please fix this                     Jonmichal Walker
Pretty cool tool for comparing various wireless carriers                 Brian Kennedy
Coverage maps for Jersey shore area are definitively inaccurate     A Google user
It s a good app it does what it s suppose to                 Wizard Level 1
all areas needed are untested of no use to me     Miriam Taylor
Took a while to get going                 Anne Stein
The coverage maps consistently state higher readings than real world readings which is misleading if you re looking for a reliable network Also total black spots are often given amber or red markers on the map when it s nearly impossible to get any service there Other than that it s a pretty good app         Rob Fitzmaurice
In Santa Barbara the only data I see is mine Where is the rest of the crowd sourced data Excellent to see other service provider data too wow it s been well over a year and nothing s changed I need Google Fi as a service provider and I need it to track me while I drive again where is the rest of the crowd sourced data                 Walter Peterson
This app has come to be my favorite of its type but I give a rating of only 4 stars because there are areas where improvements are needed I only care about testing signal strength coverage call performance so I m glad I can do so without having to have mobile data switched on and burning into my plan another app of a similar type let me do that until it underwent a redesign earlier this year The Coverage Map app needs to have the option of tweaking how many data points are generated for the time or distance driven sometimes the hexes on the map show as untested even after more than one pass in an area where I know signal is strong or if the hexes do show as tested only 1 or 2 data points are indicated I wish the map in the app had plus and minus buttons for zooming in and out much better than changing the spacing between my fingers while on the phone screen As for the website itself I would like 1 the ability to zoom in and bookmark an address the carrier I am testing and the layer I test and view also 2 an indication of how current the uploaded data is in any given area                 Jeff A
Obviously either Verizon is in control of the results or only Verizon users use this app Hexes update with data points but map itself does not Several months and no map update Open Signal has way more users Cellmapper is fastest to update Root Metrics hasnt even updated their app in over a year             A Google user
Fix the issue where the test fails if coverage is bad Do you not think that needs to be included on the map             Winston Rogers
Glad I Have This App it Shows sprint is the fastest in my town cool to play with and add to                     Terence Rabbers
its ok                     Jeremy Rutt
Nice app                     Ruel Aspe
ok                     s walker
The best             Elija Pratt
The app shows a lot of useful info for anyone trying to compare cell carriers I like that you can zoom in to street level and add layers like terrain into the mix It told me at least part of what I need to know I was a little disappointed that I can t seem to submit data on my lousy cell service because of my lousy cell service Keep getting an error about a data network change                 Tom Beverly
Mapping no voice signal areas appears not possible anymore Test will cancel if no network is found mapping areas without signal should be one of the most important data points Especially since this is the data the carriers throw around Same goes for data what prev also did not do it will record best tech speed found but does not map data failed points if you never can connect but had one successful data point by climbing on the roof this one successful data point will be mapped without ability to offset it against all the failed data points     A Google user
It was good for years but now for some reason it stopped recording and won t upload my data on the map anymore I tried uninstalling but didn t help Get it together please     Christina Hill
Removed the ability for unlimited testing As a result I rarely use coverage map anymore but instead I use opensignal Bring back the old way of testing and ill return and contribute again until then opensignal is where its at     A Google user
Readings are not live Therefore not accurate     A Google user
This App SUCKS     A Google user
I m not sure how accurate the map is Since the when using the data test it records my phone s original carrier even when I m roaming This and the fact that data points from for example Verizon Wireless end up in Canada And I m pretty sure Verizon will have none in Canada Besides this nitpick of things off about the app The app overall is very usable and useful             Brandon Liang
No way to upload data App has used 1 8GB and has reported 0 bytes Seems like a pointless app and a very unreliable source to compare coverage Sensorly and OpenSignal are more updated and accurate     A Google user
Crowdsourcing no longer supported apparently Logging dead spots no longer show on map or falsely show green Emails to Rootmetrics get automated response only Once a great app now lost credibility     Ghost Network
Defaults to testing wifi This is a cell map app Must disable wifi to force cell test Doesn t show current cell strength 104 dBM at home so dead zone App s test keeps failing duh dead zone but cannot report untested zones might be untested or the app refusing to submit reports on failed tests in dead zones Yep I m in an untested zone but forget reporting it         Lee
Once a great app now doesnt work anymore on samsung android phones Dosent run background crowdsource and wont shoe speed tests anymore on map This app is trash noe dont download it         Austin
Inaccurate and a scam T Mobile and MetroPCS share the same network however it s as if MetroPCS doesn t even exist on the map Obviously a failed marketing attempt to detour honest customers     A Google user
