If you are Android owner,you now can download NETGEAR Genie for free from Google Play. The application is designed for use in English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. It is highly advisable to have the latest app version installed so that you don`t miss out on the fresh new features and improvements. The current app version 2.0.99 has been released on 2014-11-25. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. love the wifi analyzer app and reboot button only real complaint is the connected devices list from my router is missing the network map is graphical not as useful for me and it does not use the names i put on the device list whole app could use a UI facelift like the newer Nighthawk app that is supposed to work with my c7000v2 but does not                 John Russell

Horrible can t login ZERO customer service I wish I could give it a 0 stars but stuck having to give 1 There is nowhere you can get help Netgear is no help either Just public board that don t help fix anything You would think with MILLIONS of apps downloaded they could at least have somewhere you can turn to help people who can t even login So frustrating I waist over an hour of my life trying to figure something out that should have taken like 10 mins max     Dave Steele

It s easy to use and has clean visuals but the thing that irks me is I m constantly renaming my devices I would like to name them once and have it stick Also sometimes my login for my extender gets erased and I have to start over Right now its refusing to log me in because it has forgotten my log in information             Dawn Slingsby

Application is pretty decent and give you the ability to see attached devices and actual usage stats after changing the logging on the router I recommend adding the ability to track usage by device as well Would be a helpful feature for those who have data caps and should help folks like myself police those who might be abusing WiFi in a world where streaming in now the norm                 David Maikut

I ve ran this app on a R7000 for over a year Most useful is naming on the network map once MAC addresses are determined which was time consuming which allows me to see if the kids devices are online and set filter levels per device PC controls are easier but the app is useful when on the network Now that I m being forced to change apps we ll see how the new one performs                 Richard Vedvik

This is not Netgear Genie any more This app does nothing but redirect to a newer Nighyhawk app that Does Not support parental controls already built in to Netgear routers like my R6400v1 Windows 10 Netgear Genie works with the built in Parental controls Netgear needs to fix Genie correctly recognize routers that don t have built in Disney Circle parental controls and give us the option to use Genie s builtin OpenDNS parantal controls Netgear is seriously losing so many customers     Todd

Dont know what is the purpose of this app i m un able configure router Even try to change existing name of the router its not there Every time user needs enter credentials for getting connection this is happening for existing connections also login is not working     rajaramesh chinta

I have a Nighthawk This app did everything I wanted and did it fairly well there were hiccups on occassion but it was great enough otherwise to be forgiven Now I can t log in and all it prompts me to do is go to the Nighthawk app on the Play Store an app that forces you to make an external account just to access your router Instant uninstall I bought a Nighthawk to avoid such nonsense What a mess just roll it back we ll be waiting     Brandon Varney

Used to like it but now it no longer works for my router since I updated the firmware of my router bs This will be my last netgear now they want me to create a netgear account log in with that then I can manage my router I ve already purchased Businesses are getting shady they just want you to make an account so they can spam you and track your info This is my last netgear and sadly I do technical services and people daily ask me what equipment I would suggest and guess what its no longer ng     L S

At least now thanks to an update fix I can change the status of a computer in Network map after resrtting everything a couple of times Really THANKS But NOW I CANNOT SAVE ANY SETTINGS IN IT AT ALL Trying to set Parental Controls Get Ready to LOCK YOUR WHOLE FAMILY OUT Cant even change the names Netgear if youre going to FORCE us to use your app rather than a web interface AT LEAST MAKE IT F FUNCTIONAL Slightly less Dumpster fire of an app         Michael Allen

with the latest update apparently my router in no longer supported this would be fine if not for the fact I m being pushed to another app that requires both a netgear account and my router credentials looks like I need to do some testing to see what information the new app collects and if I m comfortable with that information being controlled by someone else         Justin Anderle

SO this USED to work for my Orbi Now this app still will log in obviously as a cruel tease but the it says I have to upgrade to the orbi app which has NEVER worked right It wont stay logged in for more than a few seconds so thanks ever so much for breaking this Im sorrier than ever that i let myself be pursueded to buy this dumb thing instead of the Google router i bet their apps work     Clare Markley

Like many users have already stated Netgear has inexplicably removed support for my Nighthawk router from this app in order to force me to use the Nighthawk app instead which requires an online account THAT I DON T WANT in order to use an app that doesn t have half the functionality of the one they took away Give us back the Genie app or I m going back to Asus     Marlon Baskin

Netgear Genie was moderately useful since an update it no longer supports my D7000 The modem is a useless inclusion as it is not supported by my provider The router works very well but over all Netgear are better at pissing their costumers off than providing them with any useful support There have to be better options out there If I for example had a car that simple stopped because the manufacturer decided that I need a later model I would burn it and give the brand a big all time miss     Tingeling Bos

Let s you change one setting then the app crashes Then when you restart the app it wont let you log in at all for about 10 minutes Not a good pal at all     steven sheppard

Netgear please re enable this app for the R7000 YOUR CURRENT FIRMWARE NO WORKY Without the network map in this app only there is no way to control the parental control the desktop app doesn t work We need a firmware that works and the app to remain the same A cow is a cow you can t change it so keep this app enabled     Ken Dudley

since i got an extender for my Netgear the controls for devices only shows my phone regardless of which router i am signed into Since there is no real parental control i rely on this just glad it didnt happen whilenI had my son s phone disabled from the internet Please fix it         Jeff Kokke

network map works but custom names wont let me set a name i change the name from a ip address to the name of the device and it just goes back to a ip so i dont know what is what in my house on my internet             Andrew White
