Nissan LEAF

The Nissan LEAF is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is supporting English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. The new Nissan LEAF app version 2.3.2 has been updated on 2014-11-18. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. I have a Leaf I live in AZ Mainly want to use app for turning on the AC App constantly logs you off So you have to constantly log back on What a pain Then you have to go through several un intuitive steps to get to the screen for turning on the AC Then it doesn t always work for whatever reason I upgraded Leaf telemetries from the older 2G to the current 3G Not sure it was worth it For comparison I have a Ford pickup and use the FordPASS app What a dream to use Never logs you out the Start function to power up the AC is on the first screen What a concept easy to use and it works Nissan where are you Asleep Clueless Don t care about your owners All the preceding         Dwight Smith

Had my car 1 year and best I can say is once in a long while this app actually lets me see status start the climate control but mostly doesnt It s a shame because it s an amazing feature but Nissan doesn t seem to support its development I ve called them many times and it usually ends up with them telling me to make a dealership appointment which I think is their way of brushing this issue under the rug Such a shame Nissan are you listening PLEASE get this app feature more support     A Google user

Like others said this never seems to be able to connect to the vehicle and is lacking critical functionality I love the car but Nissan really needs to get on the ball with the technology I can t figure out why they didn t put a 50 cent Wi Fi chip in the car so it could connect to my home router     Ben Bayer

Not perfect but gets the job done If you want to set the temperature remotely it s a function on the Climate Control Timer in the app Set a new temp select start now and you re good to go The basic climate control on button does not do that Replace the on button with the timer button in the settings menu                     Dan Hoyt

good does what i need it to do i only use it to turn on climate control and check battery status my only complaint is that the climate control buttons on the home screen seem less reliable then going to the climate control screen and selecting start i also wish there was a separate button for turn on AC and heat instead of just one button for turn on climate control                 Greg T

Absolutely horrible It works a couple days a month I really wanted to turn on the climate control today before I unplugged the car but this app just won t work It s a shame because this car would be nice if this app worked As it is I will not buy another Nissan     Jeff Moore

It worked well mid April through the end of June of 2019 As of July 1 2019 The app is not working with my 2013 Leaf I don t know why Nissan is unable to get this service to work reliably         mikecvek

The app has descended into Junk Status not that it was great to begin with Since the update earlier this week the app is virtually unusable No new data just updates saying that it s updated even if you can t see it Otherwise chronically slow with sometimes nonsense usage reports Nissan you can do better     dmcc0987

The app was rock solid until Nissan had to move away from ATu0026T for their service Now the app is virtually useless if you want to have the ability to consistently check your charge level Finally the infrastructure behind the app is ridiculous in that the signal travels to TN then to Japan and back to TN before making it to your mobile device or PC Not a very optimal setup Nissan made it s pre 2017 customers pay just over 200 to keep the telematics so far it has not worked     Mark Conant

purchased 2019 leaf plus sl 2 weeks ago app connects to car I can check battery level unlock doors but can t control climate control temp it will turn on blower but can t adjust temp either hot or cold Called Nissan connect they said take it to dealer I took it dealer says they are not trained on the Nissan leaf so pretty upset and disappointed at Nissan for this crappy app     jimolin

I can only give it two stars because you can actually do some things with it lock unlock doors beep the horn to find your car and a few other cool functions but it s incredibly slow and unreliable It can take up to 90 120 seconds for it to update my car s charge level Unlocking the doors or doing literally anything else takes a while too From what I ve read it sounds like part of the problem is that the app can t just connect to the Leaf and get the info it needs or perform the task you ve requested It has to send the request and wait for the Leaf to check for new requests And it seems like the Leaf just doesn t check often enough I d wish it just checked every 5 seconds rather than every 90 or whatever it is I m tempted to give it one star because it s incredibly frustrating to use but I have to give it two because it does eventually do the thing you ve asked it to do most of the time         Aaron Long

I love my 2019 Leaf but this app is worthless It fails to connect to my car more often than not Daily drive reports are unavailable tapping on a particular date does nothing Route planner dumps me back to the main app screen after changing settings To be fair no car maker has a clue about reliable infotainment systems and connectivity they re uniformly terrible     Coinneach Fitzpatrick

This app is basically useless It will not update my vehicle s status It will not connect It will not remote start the vehicle Maybe 1 in 20 attempts will be successful but don t count on it Logging into the Nissan owner s website doesn t seem to help as the previous reviewer said I would be furious if I purchased a new Leaf expecting to be able to remotely interact with it and discovered how embarrassingly useless this app is     Rick Ashenfalder

Update 1 15 2019 can t connect to my car via the app anymore for no apparent reason Why this app lacks some basic functionality remains a mystery to me You can start a charge but you can not stop it Why can t the timer also be set through the app Same with charging to a set percentage simply not available I m stunned how Nissan restricts it s customers     A Google user

Agree with Jon McCombs comment for the fix if the app seems to not communicate with your Leaf I had the same issue with my 2012 that has been upgraded for 3G I tried his trick disconnect 12v battery for 30 min then reconnect 10mm wrench to reset the car s communication App now works as intended This appears to be a car issue not an app issue Nissan needs to address and not charge owners to fix Having to do this to make the app work is unacceptable especially in Minnesota in January                 Derek Hester
