The Piper Mobile is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is supporting English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. It is highly advisable to have the latest app version installed so that you don`t miss out on the fresh new features and improvements. The current app version 1.0.0 has been released on 2014-02-13. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. Like others I don t know what is wrong with Piper either Ive had as many connection issues in the past 2 weeks as I had in the previous 3 years If I restart it it works fine for a couple of hours But being that will not connect This keeps happening and basically makes this useless Piper Team please remedy this ASAP     Robert Price

After IFTTT was removed this app has gone back to what it was a few years ago which isn t good Before I really could only recommend Piper to people I knew were fairly tech savy as well as patient Now I cant recommend it at all because it lacks major features that similarly priced self monitoring systems have Things like reliable self arming disarming widgets for app functions and integration with other smart systems Also I really like the less than a week notice for the IFTTT loss     Matthew Kish

Now that you are ending IFTTT support will you be updating the app to be more useful and to fill the IFTTT gap Timed alarm activations A widget to allow easy setting disarming without the laborious logging in and waiting for the app to connect I ve always persevered with Piper because the hardware is good But the software was always buoyed by IFTTT Without simple features like those above there s no point staying with Piper or buying for any potential customers             Craig

What a shame Effective May 1 2019 Piper will no longer support IFTTT applets IFTTT has changed its terms and we are no longer able to provide this integration Any applets you have set up will cease to work as of May 1 2019 There are no plans at this time to replace IFTTT with another similar service     Alex Silvosa Taboada

Horrible and dangerous application not to be used for any serious home security purpose fails to connect to camera feed nearly every time Tested camera and application randomly with a 2nd person to see how it would work in the event of an actual break in emergency and it failed to connect the entire time Piper shouldn t advertise themselves as anything more than a novelty as they fail miserably in any serious capacity     J Fernandes

This started out as a great device but over just 2 years the Piper NV i bought no longer displays video and the most recent updates of the application does not push out motion activity notifications the primary use of these devices I have a Piper classic and Piper NV and both have this issue Seems like support team is not really interested in solving the issue either     Rick Reznicsek

The app connects to my piper 1 10 times and now they ve removed support for IFTTT which was the only thing that made the device usable Add in time controls so it can arm and disarm automatically or lose customers     Madelyn Kerby

As of May 1 2019 Piper is eliminating Google Home and Amazon Echo integration through IFTTT They gave existing customers less than a week s notice New app functionality hasn t been added for at least 2 years Buyer beware         Gary W. McKee

Around the start of 2019 they fixed the crashing problem but we stopped getting notifications on all 3 of our Samsung Android devices With the latest fix notifications work while the app is in memory and active but as soon as it becomes inactive a few minutes after one s stopped using it you stop getting the notifications When you restart the app you get all the missed notifications at once in a flood Developers PLEASE look at fixing             P Long

Let s you down when you need it most I m currently on vacation in another country and using Piper as my home security Big mistake Piper did an update to the app and now it shows that it is offline It wants me to set up and configure the whole system all over again What a waist of money and who knows what s going on at my house because I can t check in to see or know anything If you re looking for real security avoid this useless device     J

Absolute nightmare Do not buy if you want peace of mind and to be able monitor your home while you re away as Piper despite claiming to offer both of these actually offers the complete opposite Imagine sitting on a train on your way to a much looked forward to weekend away finding yourself in a situation where you think your house is on fire Imagine going away and receiving over 800 phone calls e mails and messages from your Piper and not being able to stop them aside from switch your phone off and block the number That s what happened as a result of my Piper I ve had my Piper a year bought to monitor my house while I was away I had a house fire a while back and I ve gone through the nightmare of being burgled My experience with my Piper has been far from positive frequently my Piper either doesn t connect at all despite sitting next to the to the router On other occasions it looses network connection and you can not reset it remotely Pretty useless when you are on holiday More recently I went away it was unseasonably cold however I had turned my boiler off On the train 70 miles from home Piper lost network connection then alerted me the temperature had changed no further details for example the temperature Knowing that I had set it to alert me if the temperature increased I panicked and thinking I had an electrical fault that had caused a fire I was absolutely terrified I quickly text my neighbour and debated on contacting the fire brigade Thankfully my neighbour was in and able to listen for the smoke alarm and visibly checked the outside of my flat she was able to report that there was no evidence of fire I was relieved but still niggling doubts remained all weekend As the network has been lost I couldn t check my home vitals or change the rules so from 4pm through to 11 30am the next three days until I got home every six minutes I received a phone call and a message telling my that the temperature changed but no other details because I had no network connection I had no way of stopping the constant messages calls An alternative camera has now been ordered my Piper is now consigned to bin it could be so good but in reality it s appallingly bad     Louise F

Update 1 16 Looks like app is working now BUT even with Piper unarmed I continue to get movement and sound alerts nonstop regardless if reboot camera and reset Up until they had the update in 12 18 my Piper worked great After the update it continued to send out alerts even though the system itself was not armed and now I cannot get my system to reconnect to wifi nor can I even get to the Troubleshooting setup in the app without the app stopping     Kel E

I ve had this system for years now and it has always been a big pain to get this things connected to your wifi Once they eventually get set up you live in fear that a power outage will screw them up and you ll have to waste a lot of time trying to get the set back up Other than this they work okay         Rf L

I have to agree with other reviews that this latest update makes the app much worse I no longer get notifications and changing settings results in the app crashing Simply rolling back to the previous version would be a massive improvement and I hope something that happens soon     Phil Coussens

EDIT UPDATE has solved the problem thank goodness now working Dec18 My Piper is now useless Since 21 Dec crashes whenever I try to get the app to recognise my equipment Just goes to show how great quality supported tech is only good for as long as the parent company cares                 Vic ky

In recent months I wasn t getting alerts until I woke up my phone for another reason After the latest update I m not getting alerts at all I ve had an increasingly frustrating experience with Piper since buying Not sure why I even bother with it anymore     A Google user

Push notifications no longer work and hasn t for some time I understand that it can be the device but it makes Piper useless if you arent notified The piper team should find a fix and post to their users It might make sense to list fixes in a FAQ Issues noted on Samsung Note 8 and Samsung S9     Chris Gapinski
