Cobra iRadar™

The Cobra iRadar™ is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is supporting English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. It is highly advisable to have the latest app version installed so that you don`t miss out on the fresh new features and improvements. The current app version 3.2.1 has been released on 2014-01-15. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. Here is the app`s compatibility information: 2.1 - 2.3.7

Good in Theory I run this app in the background while using Waze for navigation Every 5 to 10 minutes this app stops running if left in the background thus it must be restarted repeatedly I have tried turning off the optimization for the app in my settings for my phone and turning off advanced optimization on my phone but the app still quits if left in background The apps settings do not let me change the settings of my Cobra Dual Pro because I can t see the choices Alerts for adjacent roads get announced unnecessary It is not necessary to have alerts for red lights while on a limited use highway My phone has 6 GB and I am only running Waze and Iradar when the above issues appear In order to use the navigation feature you must be able to locate your destination on the IRadar map No search feature is available for your destination Update 8 31 19 If I lock my IRadar app it will run in the background without quitting             Julien Antkies

Its pretty interesting being apart of a Community like this I dont have the best radar detector but that s alright if someone reports police activity in an area it still notifies me of their general location                     manuel pabon

The overall idea is great but the new software is a swing and a miss The UI is too complicated for Car Motorcycle use The notifications are too small the media controls buttons are too small and the design language is about the a user holding in their hand rather than it being a couple of feet away There s way too much empty space between things of interest The means you have to apply more attention to the screen to focus on what you want at the expense of looking at the road Suggestions 1 Have the whole screen change colour with the alert type red k band yellow x etc 2 Big Buttons and decent separation of buttons 3 Large Fonts In my eyes it s a bit of a step back but if they think more about the driver in the next release then they can recover         Sean Dring

Old version work great connecting to Radar Detector RD new version has serious connection problems Here is how to reproduce the issue in a few ways First way 1 Start App 2 Run in background 3 Lock screen in cell 4 Turn on RD 5 Never connects 6 Stop app after I give up waiting for u003e 1 min Second way 1 Start App 2 Switch to Home screen 3 Lock screen in cell 4 Turn on RD 5 Never connects 6 Stop app after I give up waiting for u003e 1 min Third way 1 Start App 2 Run in background 3 Turn on RD 4 Never connects 5 Stop app after I give up waiting for u003e 1 min This way works 1 Start App 2 Turn on RD 3 Connects fine 4 Run in background 5 Turn off RD 6 Turn on RD 7 Connects fine 8 Lock screen 9 Turn off RD 10 Turn on RD 11 Connects fine Notice Never stopped app after first connect of RD when running on screen Appears you NOW always have to connect to RD before putting app in background or lock screen for the first time you start the app I really need it to work the top three ways again Older version worked that way Please fix app so it connects like the old version Update Can t get sound working from RD to app for alerts     John Fauerbach

Uh guys what happened Everything was running fine until today New update App requested sign in with password Hell like everyone else forgot my password so I tried to sign in with new password request Seemed like it approved new password but when I am directed back to app sign in nada Tried 3 different new password request What the hell guys Come on Leave things alone     Clint Chamberlain

After doing my first review about my new irad detector the next day my display went out cant see anything on the display its on the brightest setting and nothing it was very dim for a day or 2 now completely out I have only had this detector about 3 months so I hope they will do something about this problem I will update my review after I speak with them Monday 9 2 19         John Lovell

this app works very well I have been using it with my cobra radar detector very good app and radar detector the membership is worth the money you get so many more important options the GPS works with the radar detector it know your speed you can set it to warn you if you exceed a speed you can set your self other members on the network can report road problems the the radar detector knows you location and will warn you way before you get to the location you can tell it to find another route                     JOHN LOVELL

new update no longer allows the alerts to play through my car radio this is a big disadvantage as you can t hear the detector over the car and was one of the best features of the old version i tried setting alerts to my phone but it still makes noise from the device please fix     Robert Houde III

The new update has rendered my detector useless now I use it on a motorcycle and send the audio from the detector to my helmet bluetooth comunicator This worked great in the previos version now they have all the audio go to the detector with no option to have it go to the phone Please fix this     Eric Edwards

Only problem I have has been the GPS Location in the app thinks I m 5 states away sometimes Usually fixes itself after a few days My only major problem has not been with the app but with the power cord going out every year so far But like I said not the apps fault                 Jesse Holder

App updated and now I can t log in using my existing information I had to create a new account using a different email address Not very helpful considering I use this app in the background connected to my dssh cam for speed and location data     Chad Christen

It won t let me register the app says I have an invalid email when I have been using the same email for years I tried my second email same issue invalid email i use both emails regularly so I know they work     Jack Phillips

this app used to be far superior they don t support it anymore or build on it it doesn t pair to certain phones automatically and it s become increasingly more difficult to use         Matthew Schmitt

New update is ridiculous Completely bogs down my S10 to the point where the phone gets extremely hot because it s working the 8 cores to death and stops running the app Draws enough power to overcome the charging of the phone power level goes down while charging Also can t get the stupid alerts to stop popping up on my dashcam when it s linked to the app I ve disabled every alerting option on both the dashcam AND the app yet still get them when synced It s ridiculous     Michael Tovar
