This is by far the worst e book reader I ve used I understand the security features but that comes at the expense of usability The e book reader doesn t even remember the last position you have to scramble through pages to find where you left Each page change is so much hassle It doesn t do the first two things a reader is supposed to do There s no choosing fonts which is point of ebooks and text sizing is so rigid Just forget it unless you have no other option then to suffer     Abhishek Nanda

I have authorized the app to sync with my desktop It will not sync and the only book I have ever succeeded in getting into my library is the preloaded Adode instructional booklet In an attempt to troubleshoot the problem I de authorized Digital Editions on both devices then re authorized on mobile It still finds recognizes no books and I m unable to find a solution     Pam Boling

This app is abysmal How can it not perform literally the one function it was made for Sorry fellow peers who were trying to save money but this app DOES NOT link your library You can go through the whole authorization process and they still wont appear in your digital bookshelf     Derek Roy

Well this sounded great as I needed it to read a PDF version of a book from my public library Went through the install on the computer got the book downloaded all good Installed the app on my LG V30 and no joy The computer won t see my phone when I connect it So I then tried what many had suggested copy the book over into the ADE folder on my phone Sweet no problem easy enough Copied over and tried to open it ADE won t see it and there is no way to pull it into the library with the Android app Total fail After reading other reviews and online conversations it s pretty obvious that something is really wrong at Adobe So many people have this problem but no answers on the Adobe forums and the app continues to fail for most everyone     Eric Byers

Nearly impossible I ve had to reinstall this several times before it would work Getting it to acknowledge documents on my tablet has been ridiculous It works on my phone okay but as will most Adobe products is about as counter intuitive and unhelpful as can be Don t try going to their Help Page or God help you     Janseh Onfroy

The problem is if you try to use file explorer to open files with this app it doesnt know what to do it has its own library folder you have to shove files into The interface is unintuitive and there is no option to change the library directory As a reader it works just fine it just needs a little help It struggles a bit with font sizes sometimes but litterally every Epub reader does             John Ryan

I haven t even been able to work out how to increase the text size enough to make the user guide readable I guess this is only aimed at people with very good eyesight And there seems to be no way to put any books in this app s library on my phone It doesn t see the books I have installed on my computer using the same Adobe ID Perhaps this is a deliberate ploy to make sure I can t read the books I ve borrowed from my public library when I m away from my PC     Helen Clark

I have been using this app for close to a year to study for Microsoft exams and the first book worked without a single problem but on the second book it doesn t load the images correctly and that is a super con as I need to see the images for learning purposes Judging from other experiences I am sure people are getting similar results Changed this review from 2 stars to 1 star as there has been no response to this review     Jonathan Ball

This app works well with archive s encrypted epub but doesnt work with encrypted pdf when i try to open encrypted pdf file only the front cover of book loads and rest of pages are blank I firstly thought its a doenloading problem so i left the app idle for quite a time but nothing happens tried with so many books the app is nice but it doesnt work at all for me     durgesh

Adobe apps are known for being top notch but I m quite disappointed in this app it s ease of use is not good lots of stalling and glitching when turning pages difficult to highlight words and not many options for customisation like choosing different highlighter colours or options to change the format of the pages I would contrast it to the MoonReader app which allows many options to customize your reading experience connect to a dictionary in app roll text etc however it does the job             Esther Adelanwa

Compared to kindle this app is very user unfriendly as you have to install Adobe Digital Editions on your PC Mac to retrieve the epub from an acsm file and manually drag the epub file to the android device inside the Digitial Editions folder The reading experience needs a lot of work as the number of options how to display the content are limited and the speed of turning a page extremely slow To sum up this app is a no go for a good reading working experience Thus avoid it if possible     Lucas Antelo

BEYOND FRUSTRATING Have had this app for over a year required for work and have never been able to successfully authorize the app on any andriod device attempted on 10 different devices Adobe has confirmed that I have an Adobe ID and that only one such ID is needed However in over 1 000 documented attempts each on a clean install the app replied that either the user name or password were incorrect in every case the validity of both were confirmed before and after attempt via a PC     Michael Olsen

completely useless worked for a day or 2 on pc and Android and then stopped working the advice is to uninstall and reinstall and if that doesn t work tough luck don t waste your time with it unfortunately it s the only app for reading some drm books so I ll just have to get these some other way     jem zargo

functionality is constrained and reading is difficult on the go The zoom function is horrible have to exit zoom to flip pages if you zoom too much the page snaps back and jumps around i cannot zoom enough to read my study book and it snaps back to small page I wish there was a better app to read my study books that are protected Anyone know any         James Berry

About the best thing I can say is it works User interface is Spartan and not well thought out Things only worked if done in the correct order No warning message to tell you what you might have done wrong IMO the only reason to use this app is if you are forced to because you need to open something with Adobe DRM     Bryan Patrick

Here s one way to open epubs in Adobe Digital Editions that have been checked out through Overdrive 1 Download and install OI File Manager 2 Start you book download through your browser rather than through the Overdrive app 3 In OI File Manager click on the 3 dots at upper right select Search and search for acsm 4 Tap on the acsm file name you want That pops up an app selection screen Tap Adobe Digital Editions and the epub will be downloaded to Adobe Digital Editions                 Clara Colby
