Backlight is a free brightness app/widget for Android that changes your devices screen backlight with a single click. It also allows complete custom brightness levels. You can even assign it to a gesture or a ...

Poco F1 255 isn t max approx 30     Wild Dog
does not work does nothing     A Google user
needed a simple quick dim bright toggle widget this was perfect easy to set presets defaulted at three I just wanted two dim min u0026 normal Was easy Good job                     Richard Scott
Yes when I was looking for a tool to toggle brightness values too detailed to reach with the regular slider so it doesn t blind me at night I DEFINITELY wanted to have the screen flash to full brightness each time I change it by less than 1     Kaspar Wilbuer
Every time I tap it changes the brightness but it also opened the preference everytime very annoying             Tina Jang
This is nice Simple well built and perfect Not loaded with adds and something actually worth downloading from P Store                     Jerry K
Its good Setup option is helpful                     Kevin Roy
There is no off     Ed Siefker
good                     wcompania14
I spent an hour testing out various brightness apps before I found this one It works the way it s supposed to and unlike the others I tried it s customizable which allows me to use my standard low level setting of 14 along with a few others After I installed this everytime I touched the app the settings screen would come up but that stopped after I restarted                     Just what I wanted Charles Herold
My Samsung Note 10 1 is capable of being ridiculously bright Anything over 50 is unnecessary except when outside on the brightest of days However when auto brightness is in effect it usually remains too dim during the day and too bright in the dark for reading I use Dimly at night for its added blue filter This app works great through the daylight hours Without it auto brightness goes to a value of about 10 With Brightness Widget Backlight I can quickly change to 29 the value I have found to be just right during daylight hours The only thing better for me would be an added ability to configure auto brightness with a minimum level of u0026gt 20 Tried Lux and that just crashed on my device                     Perfect app for my use case A Google user
I read the first dozen non 5 star reviews and it is apparent that those reviewers are stupid and lazy as their complaints stem from not reading in app instructions Unfortunately you don t have to have common sense to use the Internet                     Best so far Dain Schneck
That s an ugly icon Wish I could change it Another thing that I didn t like was that when I click on its icon on the app list it acts like the widget i e changing the brightness after setup even though the user is warned about this behavior it sucks Hope this changes in future versions                 What I was looking for but A Google user
A widget that is capable of switching the brightness between auto and full My only disappointment is the design of the widget itself as it could be much nicer looking It s too big compared to other icons and widgets and looks kind of ugly                 Exactly what I need A Google user
Simple and straightforward just tap the icon to cycle The only tricky part is figuring out your own preferences clearing app data will let you re enter I m liking 10 70 140 to keep the cycle short then using manual slider for anything higher                     Does exactly what it needs to J Butler
Would like a different image for the widget or choice of images but mainly rocks The only other thing I d get rid of is the icon in the app drawer 4 stars until these are fixed                 Loved the widget after 3 minutes use Christian McC
Well done One issue the settings are off by a few 55 setting should be 140 or 141 To set a system setting of 55 I had to specify 145 which read in the widget as 56 Not a big deal Must be a decimal point rounding issue Suggestion add option to specify levels                 A Google user
I keep my brightness low to conserve battery and this is only a problem when I walk out into bright sun I can easily adjust the brightness with the pull down slider if I can barely see my screen but when I can t see the slider it s hard to find I put this widget filling up an entire screen just to the left of my home screen so now I can swipe right and tap in the middle of the screen to set brightness to auto without having to be able to see the screen                     The only one that met my need Oran Switzer
For what it was worth it is a great s screen brightness app with brightness in the bulb icon On 6P I no longer have the number that is the only reason for 4 Star plus it is not an option to leave a 4 9 Star                 Dale K
I hated Android auto brightness function I preferred my own sets of brightness setting Set this up correctly Put a widget At a click you can change your brightness settings easily                     Simply Easy TiNNiTuS TQ
Please remove exclamation point from name Looks silly and unprofessional Otherwise works just like I want it too Thank you                 Handy widget Leslie Kepka
you have to add a widget to change settings I REALLY APPRECIATE the un limited number of toggles though Thought I wanted three ended up with four anyway Standard brightness half moon icon would be ideal put many options in please light dark primary colors etc                 Great needs some tweaks A Google user
Liked the overall idea but several things caused me to uninstall and look elsewhere To not be able to go in and EASILY change the values and forcing me to add an EXTRA widget in addition to the ICON widget just to be able to be able to go back into the settings is very inefficient and counter intuitive Found another app Brightness Display or vice versa that allows you to set a small adjustment bar anywhere that STAYS on ANY screen you re currently working in Very efficient no need to search             Good idea but poor execution - Spy -
This is such a simple app widget It is also exactly what I have been looking for I have it set up for 1 26 64 0 10 25 and is perfect for everyday use of the nexus 4 which happens to have a bright screen but small battery Thank you very much                     Exactly what I need Mustafa Gabuji
I like my apps tip just perform the basic functions they were intended to do and nothing else This is perfect I wanted a widget I could click to switch to several brightness values and that s what I got                     Just what I need A Google user
It has not good ui how to under stand it but my screen lill bit dull now             Good app but Mav Erick
This app let s me toggle between 2 brightness levels one for indoor and for outdoor This is exactly what I was looking for All the other brightness apps had to many levels you had to cycle through this app is very customizable                     Exactly what I was looking for Mat Reive
Works fine Only problem I have with it is the gradient from the lowest setting to the next Goes from VERY dim to quite bright needs one in between             Dan Williams
For the one s who doesn t know size of widgets may be customized based on launcher widget size shouldn t decide the app rating                     Amazing short and sweet venu dayyam
It would be great if you implement an screen turn off time selection Just waiting hopefully                     Screen shutdown timer Pasakorn Tiwatthanont
Does exactly what it s supposed to A few tweaks to the aesthetic and the UI would get 6 stars But it Works and that s rare Galaxy Note 2                     Brilliant Steve M
Every time I click it it will go to the settings options What s the point I want to set the preference and not ever see it again The point is speed     Why must it show the options everytime Lesly Leon Lee
I can see the percent values but I can only adjust values on a 1 255 scale I can see the percent values but I can only adjust values on a 1 255 scale Why Why can t I find a simple brightness adjuster that works how I want it             Okily Dokily
does not lower the backlight brightness past the system default         Michael Y
Gr8b to set the desired level of brightness and above all default brightness functionality is the super useful in case if someone accidently changes yr brightness level                 Gr8 Ankur Thakran
This is exactly what I was looking for and I love it Thanks Make a pro version just so people whom love it can donate                     WOW Steven Davidson
With regard to reducing my phone s backlight this app seems to be the only app that actually does what it claims to It works and it works very well                     Diesel Estate
Fully customisable widget for brightness control just what I ve been trying to find for ages Thank you                     Perfect Duncan Edwards
