The Petfinder is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is designed for use in English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. The new Petfinder app version 1.2 has been updated on 2014-11-27. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. Here is the app`s compatibility information: 2.2 and up

I do not like this new update for the app It deleted all the pets I had saved before the update and now I can t even search for them by name because theres no option and they dont come up in the breed search Heartbroken because I cant find the dog I fell in love with for the contact info         Rachael Kelly

Recently updated and at first I was getting no results until I went to my phone settings and allowed the app to access my location works fine but I was happy with the app prior to the update                 steve devine

It doesn t allow you to filter anything but breed size and age So you have no clue if the pet you are looking at is good with kids cats or other dogs If you add pets to your favorite list you have no idea if they ve been adopted already because it doesn t alert you if the pet is no longer available Pictures take forever to load and sometimes they don t at all Scrolling is a nightmare if you even get slightly near the bar it flys halfway down the list         Beautiful Calamity

Not organized at all if your looking for anything other than a Dog or Cat You have to lool through all the other animals They where thankfully organized by species tho Then when I finally managed to get to the rignt section it was organized by cloest then just all over the place They really need to try a more well thought out and user friendly design     Zak Edwards

Look I love Petfinder as it s a great resource for finding rescue pets but this app has some serious issues Sometimes it won t load any photos for days at a time then all of a sudden it decides to work and then not work The app has far fewer search options and functionality compared to the website It hasn t been updated since Jan 2015 almost 4 years and no update really Tried using the website instead but that is far from mobile friendly pages load very slow links won t open etc So basically Petfinder has allowed these homeless pets to be virtually unaccessible Damn shame             A Google user

This app is far from perfect so why hasn t it been updated since 2015 The search needs more options and the ability to select more than one option from a category Dogs shouldn t still show up in the favorites list after they ve been removed from the site So many shelters list their pets on Petfinder so how is this the best they can do for an app         Samuel Taylor

The app is not as good as just going to the website You have more control over searches on the website Also in the app a lot of the photos never load so you can t see them I have trouble with the scrolling It s very sensitive so if I touch the side of my screen it suddenly scrolls down and skips a bunch and then all the photos disappear and won t come back until I close the app and go back in The website is much better             A Google user

The website is fantastic and honestly one of the best services I ve tried I was curious if they had a mobile app which was even more refined than the website However this app is outdated beyond belief in comparison to the website They only have the bare minimum for filters and the entire navigation feels mid 2000s Only positives are that it works kinda and it loads quickly         Justin Krueger

Less adaptive than the website unable to enter the same filters as the website and wastes my time by having to wade through some genuinely wonderful dogs until I read in their Bios that they wont do well with my cats or child If it had the ability to filter searches properly I would use it Until then I will have to deal with the website even though it is clunky to use on a mobile device     Josh Gordon

The app is pointless and far worse than accessing the petfinder site in your mobile browser You can t search for more than one breed at a time unlike the site and can t use more than one of the other options either such as searching for both puppies AND young dogs or only adult AND senior dogs So you have to redo your search changing each variable each time Please Plus it seems like people have given this feedback for over a year and still no fix     sjbwitz

Content jumps around and it s missing adequate filters good with children and other animals at a minimum needs to be included I only got the app because the mobile site is unusable but the app is only marginally more functional Also this isn t Petfinder s fault but breed mislabeling is so rampant that it s not worth browsing The first 50 listings for Boxers in my area contained only 2 actual boxers Waste of my time         Jessica C

Worthless app Doesn t account for your location I live in PA and it is surfacing Canada results not many filter options and the dogs entered have not been verified for accuracy I may be wrong but a mini pinscher is not an XL dog That s something simple they should be doing app or not     Andy Wagner

If you save a pet under favorites there is no way to know if they ve been adopted They should say pending or adopted There are no filters for good with kids good with cats which would be super helpful Lastly there should be a way to have the newest pets at the top of your search Every day it s the same ones and you have to scroll and try to find new ones There should be an option to show most recently added         Caryn Bladt

It was usable before though the UI was not great However it s stopped loading pictures of the animals for both me and my husband so I don t believe it s specific to my device Without photos it s not very useful         Chris Pitzner

the website is really good but the app just won t let me search because I can t input the location when I tap to input it it just loads forever and then gives an error like unable to find location such a shame     Sayuky Momoya

I gave up because the whole Petfinder experience It was frustrating from the moment I inquired about the 1st dog Every dog that I inquired about or filled out an application on either took 3 5 days to get back to me one took over a week and I am still yet to hear back from 2 others There has not been any sense of urgency on any of the foster parents in replying about inquiries     John Meisterics

I love the app but I wish the search feature also had the is good with x filters like on the site I find all these adorable animals and I m not sure if I d be able to adopt them because I already have pets at home             Kali

this app is the most useful and is where we my friend and her best friend found their New puppies from the only thing that is even more useful is the fact that you can find this app on google i recommend this app for everyone looking for a puppy or just likes to check on dogs everyday                     A Google user
