An app to facilitate the recording of dragonflies within England, Wales and Scotland. The app allows records to be submitted to the county recorder in a format approved by the British Dragonfly Society. For instructions for ...

Not sure why this app asks you to input the vice county Surely this can be worked out from the grid reference Not as user friendly as the iRecord Butterflies app             Could be more user friendly Roger Butterfield
I use irecord for butterflies and ladybirds and both are very user friendly but this app seems to be overcomplicated to the point I couldn t make head nor tail of it Don t want to have to have gps turned on the whole time whilst recording as it eats battery power which seems counter productive If an app was created with the same user friendlyness as irecord I would definately use it but sadly I won t be using this one         Overcomplicated Bug Boy

As someone who records odonata at a 100 metre resolution on my local sites this Android application is very useful indeed It only allows you to start recording when it has a GPS location fix and then monitors this as you walk creating a set of records each species recorded in each 100 metre square with total adults and BDS banding for adults cojoined pairs and ovipositing females You can also record larval forms etc if you wish Species selection for recording is based on a drill down hierarchy no species name typing required and results are prepared in a format for emailing to the local recorder Overall very good quicker to use than combining a GPS and a notebook but I d like to see a link allowing record storage on iRecord                     A good field tool Graham Checkley
Amazingly useful                     Epic Tchianna I Appleyard
