The sound level meter for AndroiddeciBel is the result of a serious effort to make an Android based SPL meter as close to a professional-grade device as the phone hardware limitations allow. It uses a Fast ...
Nice
In better range Ok
what is a maximum SPL level is measured by this app and is this depends on the mic type thank you maximum level
Nice app
I calibrated this at work and for a phone it does well Will do for non critical applications Awesome app
I work at the World Trade Center and needed something quick while doing an inspection I downloaded it on site and it works perfectly on my Droid Charge Thank you Works Perfectly
Put it next to a real tester today and was within 7 of a db Accurate
After calibrating using an instrumentation digital sound level meter and using both the app and the professional meter side by side the results were nearly identical Comparison made using voice television and a running vaccum cleaner Best results of the two apps I downloaded Very pleased
Provides the most data while optimizing the simplicity of display of said data I bet pro version is even better Best in its class
Doesnt work properly
Last minute rush to find a meter tried 3 other apps which were rubbish for various reasons this one appeared to work well so used it all weekend got home and checked it next to a hardware meter and the two were identical great app Perfect
Im a mobile Dj and this is the perfect tool to get some real room averages Proper sound balance is paramount in my businesses You want your audience to enjoy your shows not blow up their eardrums I Absolutely love it Stu studio entertainment I use it in my DJ businesses
Simple and accurate
Great for the movie theater Works great
Only as accurate as your phone hardware allows
Version 12 fixes the crash issue on ICS Useful once calibrated Great little app
Cool Does what it says Decibel
Used it to get sound level in our datacenter Neat little app
Userfriendly but was totally wrong at a basketball gameIt read 91 db when it really was 120 dbMaybe it was my phone but theres no way to know
Good accuracy Very good
now I just need to find a way to calibrate it Might have to see if any local stereo shops have SPL meters and if they would be willing to let me calibrate with it A top hearingaid manufacturer is only a few miles away but I doubt they would set me up in their soundproof room with a tone generator and SPL meter On my LGE739 it registers about 4648 dB with my minifridge being the only noise I can hear With a fan and my computer running deciBel is showing about 56 dB The loudest I have gotten it so far is about 91 dB when clapping just inches above the phone Some sort of database where users could enter their calibration values for specific phone models might be helpful I really like the fact that it shows the dominant frequency Seems to work on my LGE739 TMo myTouch
I work in a Pro Audio store and this is ideal for calibrating studio monitors and small PA rigs Ive tried all the others and this is the only one I trust Very reliable and accurate enough for everyday use If you need 1db accuracy buy a db meter Essential
I have just checked this application against a semipro SPL meter and it really is pretty good I used sinewave tones from 250Hz to 3kHz I will probably purchase this app Pretty good
Wow way better than other sound appsyou can see the frequency coming invery coolcan read relative decibels easily Wow this is way better than other sound apps
Doesnt measure above 90db I think its due to the agc built into Android The app doesnt measure any higher than 90dB Nice if there was a way to turn off the automatic gain control for Androids microphone Doesnt measure above 90db
Works well 60 to 90 on note 3 after calibration Pretty good
This is an awesome app Im into sound and the fact that u can calibrate is top I havent used it fully yet but i will try it Few things i would like to see in updates would be maybe an average function where we could set it to say 1 min and it will calculatr the average over that time set Maybe also a log where u can save highest readings Thanks for the great app Excellent app
Unfortunately this app did not register any readings at all on my moto razr clearly the microphone was not enabled and the readings were just stuck at a random default level It is unfair to give any judgement of it though Moto razr no response
Limited by phones mic capabilities I have noisy neighbors and wanted a scientific threshold to measure them by Unfortunately my phones mic doesnt pick up sounds that arent in the immediate proximity of the phone Limited by phones mic capabilities
Not very accurate Nah
It was good on my old Moto droid would read max db in my car 1405 but now on my bionic I cant get any readings over 90 db Taz
Good enough for me Works Jd
Nice charting and screen save option is great especially if you want proof u2021u2022 Suits my purpose

Samsung galaxy 2 tablet Seems to be the only one that is actually working for the Galaxy 2 Great app for band lovers It works great
Like my Radio Shack but its here I havent ABd them for accuracy I will get back to you when I do Like my Radio Shack but its here
Accurate and the graph is an added plus Best Sound Meter for Samsung Galaxy SIII
I woukd like to know the complete frequency content of the signal as well not just the most intense band Good
Works good but make sure you exit the app before making a phone call as it will not let the person hear you jvchsAbsnhahazh vby
