The Mukluk MUD Client is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is supporting English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. It is highly advisable to have the latest app version installed so that you don`t miss out on the fresh new features and improvements. The current app version Varieswithdevice has been released on 2014-11-27. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. Here is the app`s compatibility information: Varies with device

Mukluk is a client designed for use with your favorite MUD, MUSH, MUCK, MOO or similar online text-based world. Connect to multiple worlds simultaneously ANSI colors (both basic colors and xterm-256 supported) Double-tap to navigate ...

A really decent client for MUDing but it could use a built in trigger timer alias nested along one side of the screen that can be accessed by swiping and directional GUI around the screen when tapped lightly Maybe a notebook page nested along the other side of the screen too that can be accessed by swiping                 Hayden Siegel
great app works perfectly recommend it for all the mudders and mushers out there                     Joseph Ashford
best one I ve used easy to set font size etc                     Mike Barker
Would be better with trigger support             Seven Virtues
It s a fun game to play with friends                     Rockin Fox
It worked for casual MUCKing without a real keyboard Decent dumb terminal Gestures are intuitive and include history and real vertical scrolling and that s it Font in server output is small enough to get plenty on screen and large enough to be readable Font in editor is larger suitable for finger pointing Hold menu on server text doesn t seem to offer regular text copy but with logging turned on that isn t so important Some sort of activity since last foreground notification would be nice as would autoscroll to the VERY bottom when switching in Scrolling the cursor right required finagling                 Lauren Pullen
Connected well and was generally good UI etc but it was a real problem when only some of the text was being shown Also didn t seem to pick up when I would input text sometimes so 3 star for now I m trying to play the Discworld MUD specifically using port 4242 if that helps diagnose at all                 James Ling
Those gremlin characters of gibberish you see in Mukluk when connecting or handshaking with a mu are due to Mukluk ignoring Telnet RFC 854 and never responds to the IAC character properly This is why other clients even PuTTY work better     Mukluk not Telnet compliant Blau
Works well buuut I do a lot of stuff on MUSHes and the like and I have to write long chunks of text This has proven to be impossible It s just too easy for me to accidentally slip and tap a cursor key and then it goes to a previous command and the paragraph I just wrote Gone forever No way of getting it back The text entry box is a single line so I cannot see what I just typed and editing is a hideous pain because I have to do things to scroll around and then oops Gone forever I see no way of expanding it I am looking for a client with a better ability to edit the text I am trying to type now because this client just is not working for my needs             Justice McPherson
Simple easy to use but not very heavily featured it focuses rightly on just making things work Because of this it s stable and reliable I really commend the creator for such a simple but easy to use Mud client Bravo                     No frills no nonsense Cassandra Lone
A great mush mud app although I wish it had triggers and such so I get pinged at times At least it doesn t lose any of my saved world s at random like other phone clients                 Dana Nichols
Well I tried Blowtorch MuDroid whatever its called and several others they are all terrible This client works but as someone who has been on MUCKS for nearly 20 years and dearly misses the simple things Can we please get some mods to this 1 Larger input line a single zone like this its hard to follow your own text for large lines 2 Idle timer built in or anti disconnect since if one goes idle for 10 20min at a time the client will disconnect from the world even though it claims to be connected 3 Integrated spell checker dic maybe Would make it easier 4 Copy Paste feature please I have to use a 3rd party app to copy stuff Even a Autosave to txt file would be amazing 5 Some kind of programmable trigger mode like to make a sound when a word or a name is activated in the screen to customize different effects for different reasons 6 Ability to add custom backgrounds and finally 7 Ability to run over or under other apps so one can say Mu and listen to Youtube or Netflix at the same time it would make things like sharing youtube links and the like much easier Any input would be welcome thank you Again good client just needs a teeny bit more to make it amazing             Rick James
would be nice if there could be triggers and stuff                 Sapphire Storm
Only mud client i can find that works ok with talkback Wish development was ongoing                 Tuan Bui
Needs option for custom buttons             JD Sexton
Been using SimpleMU on the PC for 20yrs now and Mukluk is the best Android client I ve found yet and the only one capable of handling multiple worlds well But it badly needs some sort of activity in world notification and trigger timer capability At the very least some sort of basic keep alive signal Add those three and I d give it six stars if I could                 Great Android MU client Christie Lockhart
This is my favorite MUD player on android but whenever while in landscape mode the input box covers the entire screen this something I can overlook but it can be a bit annoying at times Also a shortcut to scroll through previously output text would also be nice                 Great MUD player Johnathan Waeton
Do I have to reinstall every time I want to play After I add a world I can connect However if I disconnect the app minimizes every time I select thr world after that Sorry for the bad review but that combined with the input lag makes my muds unplayable     Adam Thompson
Mukluk is a good client seems stable and so far plays well with split screen in Nougat The one five star feature I m dying for is the ability to highlight or color lines that match a trigger with or without a system notification Every Windows client can do this and no Android clients seem to                 Christopher Bonini
Better than blowtorch for sure So far I like it with one potentially serious problem it will occassionally truncate output from the server Descriptions of rooms and other players are the only place I ve seen this so far but I doubt they will be the only place this appears                 Pretty good Brendan Blanks
This MUD client is honestly the only one I ve seen for a phone or tablet that doesn t end up crashing and burning horribly That being said it is missing some features I personally find kind of essential You can t click links or even copy them down it seems no highlight function for copying or pasting and while this my have been unique to blow torch there is a notable lack of buttons or GUI shortcuts for common actions That being said it does for the most part what I require it for and I can only hope that things get better                 Stable but missing a few features Talin Peacy
Id really like to turn off auto correct because my game is case sensitive for when it capitalizes the first word of a line and also has some strange names that autocorrect likes to change I also don t like having my aliases show up in text messages when I m not paying attention                 Like it but can we turn off autocorrect Charles Varn
I know reviews are probably not the best place to put in feature requests but all Mukluk is missing in my opinion is SSL support                     Only missing one thing Craig Blaylock
its well done the only thing keeping it from obtaining the fifth star is for it and talkback to work together since it doesn t read text automatically otherwise well done                 its well done Vic Herren
Works well solid client A couple of simple item requests that would really improve some little issues 1 swallow the messy non text ANSI characters since they are mentioned as not implemented in other reviews to keep the view and logs clean 2 make Local Echo a PER SITE setting not a global one Some sites I use don t need it others do Especially or at least in the log files This is one of the main reasons I waffled between Mukluk and another client for awhile 3 either add a timestamp notice in the log file when signing into a site or even just connecting to one or else append a timestamp to the log s filename And allow setting of the extension name my cleanup program deletes any log files 4 keep the program and all sites alive enough even in the BACKGROUND so that notifications are displayed WHEN THEY ARE RECEIVED I wanted to have multiple logins going and couldn t keep them up well because the bell is never received until I go back into the site screen Okay this is the most severe one My favourite site is low activity until certain people log in and I have to have that screen up and active in order to it Not much point of the bell now                 A Google user
Jeez gimme the option to copy and paste information from the client to like a notepad and it d be 5 stars for me             Copy and paste G4m3r K1tty3
Doesn t work on two different phones I tried it on         No go G. MacKenzie Strickland
This is quite simply the best MUCK Client available for Android                     Robert Carter
Does great mushy muxing muck luking                     Does great Michael McCormack
How do I play I can not connect to the server     How do I connect joe taggart
How do I use the link port part of world creation             Connection Redstone Mage
Better than Blowtorch Allows multiple connections and displays what you type correctly                     Luc D
Comparing the two blowtorch has a few minor conveniences like being able to see the screen while you type widescreen and setting up keys Though This app seems more stable not needing a complete reinstallation when it screws up and to me feels a bit better but slightly less user friendly than Blowtorch Honestly the whole seeing the screen while typing sideways would be enough for me to give 5 stars For Blowtorch users having problems this is an excellent alternative                 Does better than blowtorch in most aspects Jonathan Nguyen
Been using it for one or two years now and it works great It s a bit slow to open switch between on my Transformer 700 though Three things I would love to see 1 Tabs so switching between worlds is easier 2 Some way to get an alert for activity in another open world 3 Event triggers timers Especially if the events triggers can be regex based                     Great MU App Eris Griffon
I ve been using Mukluk for more than a year now and so far other than the odd crash I m rather satisfied While lacking the ability to make triggers and timers hint hint I find Mukluk to work better than for example Blowtorch Stellar job I previously reported an issue with the fonts which is now fixed Upping my rating to 5 stars Cheers                     Love the app JV de Jong
I need a mud client that allows me to see the screen while I type Unfortunately the typing menu fills the entire screen which means I cannot see what s happening in game OK Noticing its only in wide screen Still I need to be able to copy and paste for building Might be better than blowtorch in some ways             Typing space takes up entire screen Elusive Eluvate
I love the options for this app but this is something that either isn t addressed in the client or I m missing something Basically at the mud prompt to type anything while holding the phone horizontally you have to go full screen with the keyboard which is crazy when you re trying to type out time sensitive commands so as not to get killed Vertical mode works but it s a pain to read with the poorly formatted word wrap Sorry         Why is the keyboard is full screen when typing Ken Howard
Using a tiny screen for games made of text You re gonna have a Bad Time When I DO log on from the phone though Mukluk does a lot to make it less frustrating It could use some improvement here and there characters under each server for instance but about as usable as you can ask for under the circumstances It s been my go to for a long time                     Works fairly well Russell Senenfelder
