The OCR is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is designed for use in English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. The new OCR app version 1.0.6 has been updated on 2014-01-28. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. Here is the app`s compatibility information: 2.2 and up

This review is on the English character recognition side only I don t use the translator It can recognize texts well The only problem is when I rotate a picture the image becomes zoomed in and there s no option to zoom out And the image does not follow the accelerometer auto rotate so I have to crop the landscape image always In spite of that the character recognition is very good Using Xperia Neo L                     Few errors Christian Carlo de Jesus

Does a relatively good but has issues 1 Doesn t implement Google Translate well or fully For example using Google Translate in Japanese you can get the Romaji transliteration This program doesn t do this 2 Sometimes recognition of Kanji characters are totally wrong It will recognize the characters next to it but get the one in the middle wrong for example It has problems with vertical Japanese and Chinese characters                 Good But Issues A Google user

Unfortunately on my HTC One the traditional Chinese capture doesn t work It scans fine but crashes when doing character recognition Please fix this                 Not bad but Scott Harlow

The user interface is quite complicated not sure where to press at first I recommend another OCR app called OCR Instantly Free which also works offline much simpler user interface and greater accuracy         Good but complicated interface Bruce Mok

Could not translate Chinese just crashed you must download both simplified and Traditional for it to work anyhow it s still good on my Nexus 4 but not working on my Nexus 7     Piece of crap tony moey

Interface looks very nice and intuitive but app does not work After scanning the error java lang NullPointerException pops up and no text is captured If you try and use the Gallery function the app crashes outright Fix the functionality and you may have a winner otherwise sell your frontend to a developer who can make the snazzy UI actually work         Yeah no Richard Mansfield
